Thermoplastic starch-ucuuba biocomposites: effect of buriti pulp oil on lignocellulosic fiber dispersion

The study investigates thermoplastic starch (TPS) biocomposites with ucuuba fibers, focusing on the effect of buriti pulp oil. This oil improved the matrix, decreasing hydrophilicity and slightly increasing strength, while rheological and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analyses confirmed better plasticization and enhanced thermal stability.

In the research, a bio adsorbent was produced as an alternative to textile wastewater treatment and could act as a tool for recycling dyes and saving water. This process would reduce the costs of dyeing fabrics by obtaining a new "ecological dye" for subsequent tanning.

Synthesis of the TiO2/g-C3N4 photocatalyst and its photocatalytic performance for selective oxidation of alcohols

A composite photocatalyst, xTCN, was synthesized using a simple one-step hydrothermal method, with H2O2 as the oxidant. This approach effectively reduced the bandgap energy and minimized the recombination of photogenerated carriers. The bandgap structure of g-C3N4 was modified by the incorporation of an O atom, improving the separation efficiency of the photogenerated electrons and holes.
