Triflic acid-promoted regio and stereoselective synthesis of polyfunctionalized enaminones from dibenzylidene ketones and organic azides

Lucas Souza PratesI; Silvio CunhaI,II,*

Stereoselective synthesis of α-aryl enaminones was developed by TfOH-promoted cascade reactions via 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of alkyl azides with dibenzylidene ketones, aziridine formation, and 1,2-aryl migration. Starting materials are readily available and TfOH is easy to handle.

The highly efficient BiOCl/KBiO3 p-n heterojunction photo-catalysts under visible light irradiation

Yan WangI,II; Qiong WuI; Van P. VuII; Beom S. ParkII; Shuo MaII; Heng Q. ZhangI,*

KBiO3 and BiOCl form the p-n heterojunction that makes the photo-induced electrons and holes efficiently separated and the recombination of electron-hole pairs hindered under visible light. Therefore, the photocatalytic effect can be greatly improved.

Effects of preparation method on catalytic behavior of Ni-Me (Me = Co, Nb)/γ-Al2O3 for oxidative dehydrogenation of ethane

Mario Hurtado CotilloI,II; José M. López NietoII; Benjamín SolsonaIII; Rosario Sun KouIV; Gino PicassoI,*

An alumina supported NiNb metal oxide prepared from hydrothermal method was successfully applied for ethane oxidative dehydrogenation (ODH) to ethylene. The hydrothermal method led to the feasible formation of active sites over the NiNb sample, which presented the highest selectivity toward ethylene due to the special nature of surface oxygen with low reducible sites.

Microenvironment modulation of TiO2 nanosheets for highly selective photocatalytic CO2 reduction

Xingxing Zheng*; Jun Yang*

Modifying the surface of TiO2 with phosphate (PO43-) increases the number of hydroxyl groups on the TiO2 surface. This enhancement provides numerous Lewis basic sites that promote the adsorption and activation of CO2. Additionally, the creation of P-O-Ti electron transfer channels aids in the crucial intermediate *COOH, improving the CO production efficiency.
